Apps for Rome

Taxis

The most common way to “hail” a taxi is through the local apps. There are also taxi stands around the city, and some services still can be booked by phone.

Alt. transport

Bus and Metro are actually sometimes the fastest form of transport – though they can be crowded. Do not get caught without your bus ticket in hand – the fines are 50 euros per person aboard. Watch for pickpockets on public rides.

My go-to is often an e-bike – not for the faint of heart in Roman traffic!

A few apps to inspire. Don’t miss the MIC card if you want to see a lot of art.

Delivery services

Rome is fairly new to the home delivery scene, it’s just not as common as in NYC. Grocery stores abound, the weather invites you to be out, and the personal touch of interacting with your neighborhood vendors is part of life here.
